Dealer installed carbon fiber dash package...Thoughts?

I went ahead and ordered the carbon fiber dash package from the dealer when ordering my cooper S without seeing it in person (Not the JCW dash). Well, I actually saw it this weekend and have somewhat mixed feelings. The small gaps below the trim pieces that go over the vent areas make it appear cheap to me. Even thought it's an overlay I didn't think the rest of it looked too bad, and should work well with the anthracite interior trim. But I'm just not 100% sure now. Does anyone have this package installed, and have some pictures or have personal experience to share?

The carbon fiber dash came stock on my '04 Monte Carlo MCS...I think the genuine CF makes the interior looks impressive and have heard only positive comments about it.
You'll see a lot of other rides on the streets with "Carbon Fiber look"/fake carbon fiber...you're keeping it real
here's a pic of my dash, is this the same they installed into your MCS?

i took off the carbon fiber dash i had installed on my 05. first of all, the door pieces are for an 04, or an 05 with small arm rest, so they didnt fit. looks hokey and is cheaply made. it was a 150 dollar mistake in my opinion, i coulda had a rear fog for that kinda money!!!

you know what, i think the Carbon Fiber dash that the dealers are installing are NOT the same as the one in my MC40, judging from the above member's thumbnail.
the new one kind of looks like an afterthought.

The one he's referring to is just the sticker, not the whole dash like in the MC40's. It does look pretty bad in real life.

yikes, it looks worse than the picture? wow, thats not so sexy, lol.
i would unless they're scratch n' sniffs, remove them and get the dash custom painted. It would be ashamed to have a beautiful car be ruined by a sticker.

its real Carbon Fiber, just really thin and with a 3M backing. i took it off a week after i put it on, i have no more pictures because of it. yes, the air bag is still silver as is the area above the steering column....TAKE IF OFF THE ORDER!!! GET THE JCW DASH AND DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID!!!

does anyone know how hard it is to replace all the silver dash trim with the JCW dash in carbon fiber? is it a task or is it a rather simple pop-out-and-replace kinda deal?

I've seen it and the MC dash - not the same - looks like a wal-mart accesory.

isn't the JCW CF Dash $1500 or something like that. yes, it looks sweet, but i could do springs, sway bars, intake and pulley for that much

Yeah, I just emailed my sales guy. I don't think it's worth the money so i'm going to have them remove it from the order. I'm sure that money can be put to better use somewhere else.
