R50/53 Kanji Roof Sticker
I got the Kanji roof sticker from the MINI international magazine that was somehow posted to me, i'm just wondering did anyone else get one? (there are only 150 of them, so it claimed)
and if somebody owns one, then i'm wondering if they have a sunroof? as i have one and i'm very doubtful on the effect, when i ordered it i somehow forgot the demonstrated picture didn't have a sunroof. so if someone owns a Kanji roof sticker with sunroof, then please tell me how it looks. Thank you!

hey sorry it took a bit to reply, i wasn't able to go online cos my comp broke down. hmm unfortunately i dont have a pic i can show here cos i purchased from the magazine the dealer sent me. and i have no scanner. but Kanji apparently means 'dynamic' in japanese (or something along those lines).
anyways, i actually got the sticker now and i'm a bit gutted, since the sticker is black. and althought i have a white ;roof, the sunroof is black! so i dont see a point to stick it on when u cant see it!!!!!!!
So is anyone in New Zealand who has a MINI (no sunroof) interested in buying this very cool roof sticker off me?

When I lived in Japan, I noticed it was very sheik to have English words on everything, but they had no real meaning. An example would be "Bike wheels taste great" which was a favorite of mine.
Just make sure before you apply any decal to your car that is in a language you don't read, you know what it says.
You could be driving around town in your Mini that says, "Plumbing problems do the job"

Thats's too funny. When I was stationed in South Korea they did the same thing. I even saw a catalog with a happy smiling kid giving a thumbs up, kicker was that his shirt said, in big letters, "F*&k YOU". I about fell out of my chair when I saw it.

One of my favorite snack items from a Japanese food store I frequent is a Hostess-type pastry. Mind you, it's not my favorite because it tastes good (it's really only marginal), but because of the description on the lable: "Good tasting and cheese steam-up bread".
When visiting Japan I went into a "de-paato" (how they refer to department stores) and found a pillow with the Ford logo, except the cursive letters spelled out "*****".
Skvarcius, I love www.engrish.com. The stuff there is so representative of the English you see in Japan.

hahah funny. well i'm from hong kong (in new zealand), and i can read the characters, but sometimes they dont mean the same thing when they are in japanese (though usually simliar) so cant be smart in telling everyone what it means exactly. but at least i'm sure it's not on the lines of 'this is the most comfortable notebook you have ever run into'.
anyways, thanx matt, for expressing interest.

kind enough to keep ... the line open, what does that mean?
Making:
Did they make classic minis for Britain because they were nice? or to make money.
Buying:
Or, were they nice enough to keep buying the mini?
Either way, how cares.
Still an oriental thing. Why British?

>>Very ostentatious of you. And true, but you are doddering.
Being a doddering old fart makes it difficult to do the 'ostentatious' thing well, but we all have our talents - mine just don't include 'isolationist biggot'

Shoo weee, sorry you are old. Worldly fool. That is sweet. My whole point was Japan being kind in keeping the mini alive. Britain would have survived, as would the mini, without Japanese support. Just want you to know, that the parochial comment started this ball rolling. So, congratulations on pissing off the USA.
No need to feel sorry - 'age' happens - as for the Mini, the line would've shut down years earlier if not for support from places like Japan, and Britain would've survived, but the remains of their auto industry wouldn't have - and hasn't: every company has been bought up by someone else, Ford, VW, BMW or whoever ...
... and I'm sorry if you're pissed off but I don't think the USA in general cares - they weren't buying Minis ...

Seattle - and BTW, I'll be passing through Your Fair State on the way to Deal's Gap in May ... are the Parkways on the northeast side of the state any good?
