Got my Accessories from Classic, a review

So I ordered $330 worth of accessories from Classic and my MINI isn't even completed yet. Hey, what can I say? I wanted to post about buying them and about the items themselves in case some other new owners were looking to get some.

First let me say dealing with Classic was easy. Gave Brian in the parts department my list, he emailed me with the prices and that was it. Took little over a week to get my stuff but I was in no rush. Prices were the best I could get and trust me I did check around.

Items:

Black Rubber "S" Front Floormats - These things are well worth the money. At first I hated paying this much for mats but now that I see them in person I understand why. They are thick rubber which look real easy to clean. You can also hook them to the floor but I will wait and see if they slide first. They feel too heavy to slide in my opinion. Oh and the "S" logo is really awesome.

Black Rear Mats - Same quality as the fronts only without the "S" logo.

Boot Mat - I was expecting it to be the same thickness as the front mats and it isn't. Still looks to be of high quality and damn if the "S" logo doesn't just scream badass.

Boot Mat Extension - This doesn't appear to be of as high quality as the others but time will tell. I need to actually get it in the car before I judge it. Priciest of the mats.

Euro Parcel Shelf - Nuff said about this everywhere. Looks great and make sure you ask for the rubber lining.

Glove Box Organizer - Don't know why but I was expecting something better. And I even saw pics of it. It's pricey for what it is. I'd advise against it.

Magnetic Stone Guards - Another item which wasn't what I expected. I was expecting the outer surface to be a hard glossy plastic. It's glossy rubber. Should be just as functional I just think plastic would look nicer.

Last but not least I got the...

Rear Bumper Protector - This looked like it was going to be made of rubber like the mats only thinner. Turns out it's more like a very strong/durable vinyl graphic. It installs like a graphic with soap and water and needs to be lined up properly. Not what I expected but should be good.

Hope this helps anyone wondering about accessories.

Sweetie, when you get your MINI and start hitting some twisties in it, you will be VERY glad to have the glove box organizer! It will prevent things slamming around in the box! Did you get the one that matches the interior of the glovebox? I love mine!

One that matches? Didn't know they had that. It's black so I hope so. Brian at Classic is nice but he is a bit absent minded...and I mean that in a harmless way. He was set to sell me the center console tray until I found out and pointed out to him that they come in the 05's as OEM. He didn't realize. No harm, no foul. So I was not made aware of any matching issues.

Can you please elaborate on these two items?

Magnetic Stone Guards: What do these look like and where do they go? Not sure what part of the car they protect (sorry, don't know much 'bout history....I mean cars )

Rear Bumper Protector: Well, I can guess that this goes on the rear bumper, but please tell me more

Thank you!

You don't need the hooks. I have the standard Cooper version of these mats, and the only time they move is when I take them out!

And I agree with the others about the glove box organizer. I finally broke down and bought one after 26,000 miles and 10 months of motoring. Before I got the organizer, I could hear stuff crashing around the glovebox during 'spirited' drives, and I can't count the number of times I thought I found a new rattle inside the car, only to discover it was all of the junk in the glovebox making a racket! Plus, the explosion of stuff that happened whenever I opened it up wasn't very nice, either. With the organizer, everything stays put while motoring, no more explosions, and everything is, well, organized! The only negative that I found is that with the organizer installed, I can no longer fit gloves inside the glovebox! Small price to pay though!

Thanks for the reviews, it helps a lot to hear opinions on things.

If its not too much of a bother would you post the part numbers for the rubbers mats including the hatch one? Thanks in advance

the magnetic stone guard is a black piece of film that is placed before the rear wheel arch, designed to stop stones and other stuff hitting that area... i can attest that the particular area does get alot of crap thrown into it, but whether they work real well i'd say no

the rear bumper protector i got no idea....

I think if you buy your MINI at Classic, they include the glovebox organizer, the rubber mats, and a few other things. BTW, the rubber mats are awesome! I love mine. I need to buy the extended one for the back of the backseats for this year's roadtrip.

I bought my glovebox organizer from Moss MINI for my first MINI and kept it for Wanda. It perfectly matches the interior of the glovebox, same material and all. I keep my MINI owner's manual in it, along with a teeny-tiny First Aid kit that kgdblu gave me on my first roadtrip, a little flashlight, digital tire pressure guage, 2 Motorola FRS radios, a microfiber towel, a mini California duster for the dash and gauges, a few cds, a corkscrew, some incense, and a few other items, tee hee!

Michael, before I got my glovebox organizer, I sure did have things shifting around in the glovebox. As you should know from driving the dragon, everything needs to be lashed down to avoid slamming you or the interior of your MINI! LOL! And believe me, my glovebox is well-crammed!

I left the you-if brochure at work. I'll post the numbers tomorrow. But if you ask any dealer for the Black Rubber Mats with the "S" logo they will know the correct ones. Regardless...will post tomorrow.

Kyriian did a good job explaining the stone guards. I certainly think they will work better than leaving the paint un protected in that spot. Like he said, they go right in front of the rear tire fenders and just above the side skirts.

The rear bumper protector goes on top of the rear bumper at the hatch where you load and unload items. It serves to prevent you from scratching the paint when loading and unloading items. Bit pricey for what it is, $32. But if it works then I guess it'll be worth it. Pics will come once I get the car.

Well, I don't know what you learned in the Coast Guard, but in the Navy, we 'secure for sea'! (or motoring, whichever!)

Well that's how I do it, I just cram more stuff in there until there's no room for anything to crash about!
