Perhaps not the conventional method or placement...
But I did try an under seat mount kit which didn't work for me/waste of $$. So I went this route with a simple Home Depot compact Kiddie brand fire extinguisher which I mounted to the inside passenger kick panel.

Placement offers quick & easy access. Doesn't impede or interfere with entry or leg room. FWIW - Just my opinion/experience.

I went a different route by borrowing the method I use in my jeeps, UTV and truck with no holes drilled or required, which the next owner should appreciate. By that, combo of
Amerex fire bottle Amerex fire bottle
slipped into a
Bartact soft mount Bartact soft mount
. Bartact includes soft but secure Velcro straps but I simply placed it on the floor behind the passenger seat. Where that is, no issues of becoming a flying object in the event of vehicle collision. IMO, perfectly safe although unlikely compliant with tracking event rules...

I had trouble opening the link but this H3R looks very similar to, if not like, the one I got off eBay that didn't fit.
I'm sure the $50 eBay one was a Chinese knock-off. It didn't clear the seat slide adjustment lever.
However, I don't see a listing specific to a 1st Gen Mini installation on the H3R Performance site either... (?)...

But I did watch a cool YouTube video demonstrating a compact extinguisher very much like the KIES Element in your other link. I'd love to have a couple of those in my Mini instead.

I have that extinguisher, not the mount. I bought an underseat mount with my Element extinguisher from ECS Tuning. The mount won't work under the front of the seat because of a hump between the seat frame rails. I think I can mount it where I want it in front of my seat with the bracket that came with the extinguisher but I haven't got around to doing it yet. So, for now, the extinguisher is in the boot secured next to the tool kit.

That Kies mount above has one of these.

I’m considering it

I bought an Element extinguisher- elementfire.com; it's from a Canadian company and operates like a road flare- one and done. It comes with very basic mount, but they have others. Made in Italy and doesn't have a US certicication, but rated for A, B,C ,and K. I like it because it's very small and won't leave any residue if used. I didn't want a cylinder type extinguisher because they need regular testing and the contents can solidfy over time. The element has no such issues and since I hope to never need it, the long shelf life has real appeal.

That is pretty much the same reason I bought it. I watched lots of videos before my purchase, so I understand it is not ideal in every condition one might encounter but the long shelf life and long run time appeal to me. I want to buy more - for my kitchen and my other cars.

I just did a test fit on my '03 with a parcel shelf and the door won't close all the way. Without the shelf I'm sure it would because the width is the issue, not the length.
