I I have a 2006 Mini Cooper the check engine light recently came on and I need to have it smogged it's not the gas cap any ideas would be appreciated thanks
The code P1477 for a Mini Cooper indicates a problem with the Leakage Diagnostic Pump (LDP) system, often a leak in the vacuum lines that is exacerbated by the hoses degrading over time. To fix it, you need to locate the leak using a smoke test and then repair or replace the damaged components, which can include the LDP itself or the vacuum hoses under the intercooler...says google.
Finding the source of the leak seems to be the bigger headache but if it’s a hose that’s accessible it shouldn’t be a crazy fit. The intercooler isn’t hard to remove.
P1477 is the leak pump for the evap system. Not intercooler related. Check for cracked lines or rubber connections that are torn or disconnected.
thank you for your response. Still checking cracks in the lines or rubber. We appreciate your response. Also went to AutoZone where they offer free videos and the same code came up p1477 thanks again
