Well... maybe it's time to move on...

I am seriously considering changing my 04 MC and moving on to a BMW 325xi. I know it sounds crazy, but I really really love the BMW, and now that is is going out of production for the new 3 (gads, pretty ugly) I want to take the opportunity before it is too late.

Know anyone in the market for an 04 MC with 8K miles?

I went the opposite way. Sold my flawless 2001 330CI for my not so flawless 2004 MCS. I'd do it again. I'd really consider what's moving you to get a 325xi. Is it the 4 wheel drive or the extra 200+ pounds it's carrying over a 2 wd 325? It's your $$ and your car, but I really don't think the Bimmer is nearly as much fun as the MINI. And my 330CI with sport suspension was considerably quicker than any 325. Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose.

Why not have both, for your mood may change.

I live in the city and my parking space cost more than the car parked on it... $28.5K actually... and it was a good deal. The cost of having two cars in the city is just nuts, and honestly unnecessary.

There are a few reasons not to keep the Mini and move on... one being the AWD, the other is a useable back-seat. I am going to be doing some contract work for my good friend selling real-estate on the side... so, the back-seat will become a necessity.

Besides... I really really like the current 3-series... and HATE the one coming out in a few months!

The attached pic is what I am thinking of getting... I may even stick with red!

Good luck whatever you do...but think about that resale. Your MINI will continue to hold its value; what about the BMW???

It's a tough decision. Look on the bright side you will be putting a smile on the face whoever you sell it to. Good Luck

325xi, whats that? meh, whats the difference, if its not a MINI, they all just look the same to me except maybe different headlight/taillight styles

but hey, if you could walk away and never find another car like the MINI, that's good enough for me. each to his own.

I am looking to do the very same thing next year possibly. The NEW 3 Series is not as radical as the 5 or 7. It has more interior room and has more HP. So I think the wait is worth it. Looking to trade up to a 330ci ...

You sound like you need that sedan and you like it, thats good. The bmw 3's are nice cars and you'll be stylin. Do not be upset when you get spanked by a mini . Honestly man, good luck with your decision.

Those bimmers are NICE, gotta admit that. Every time I drop by MINI of Hawaii to down the FREE espresso I love to walk through that side of the dealership and drool on the windshields every now and then.

I looked at the 3-series and kept thinking what a nice car for the future. Then visions of baby seats strapped in the back seat poped into my head and I was instantly out the door and in my MINI appreciating the non-sedan daddy/baby qualities ! WHEWWW! Close one baby, close one!

Aloha!

Yes, they are nice... and there is more BMW in the Mini than people like to admit... the graphics on all of the interior buttons are the same as the Mini (or the Mini is the same as the BMW to be exact). :-) Of course, the rear suspension design is straight off the 3-series too.

I am imagining stuffing potential clients into the back seat of the Mini and losing sale after sale... though they will probably all think I am really cool...
There is no denying that the Mini is a great car, but it is not working out for me in reality (the real world for some of us is not as fun...) so... off to BMW this weekend to hash out the details.

Good luck to you, MiniCooperJD! The 3 series is very nice, and you have to go with what is best for you!

Like someone else said, your sale will make whoever buys your MINI very happy!

Thanks WickedWanda... looks like tomorrow is it. Deal looks all said and done. Turns out there is a $2500 incentive (!!!!) on the 325i because the new models are on the way... makes the deal even sweeter. I will be picking up the 325i for $27K... good deal.
