Tricking the door
Can anyone tell me how to "trick" my door/BCM into thinking that it is closed when it is actually open?
Is it possible?
My driver side door actuator seems to work when remotely using the FOB = Clunks when unlock/lock but doesn't actually/physically unlock the door. Only locks. Otherwise I've had to manually unlock using the key.
As we all know the Mini is uncomfortably cramped in there (unless you remove the front seat) while trying to work on the inside of the door with the door closed.
I need to be able to see inside the door (door card removed) while the door is open, in effort to view what the actuator is physically/mechanically doing while using the remote.
Part of my (alternate) plan would be to use the camera on my phone and mirror cast to my laptop. But temps are nearing 100° out here lately.
(I remember the good ole days where one could simply depress the button in between the door jamb in a somewhat limited way of "tricking" the car into thinking that the door was closed (so you could work on it)).
Is there a way to do this on a Mini?
