I've got an 04 MCS and I have been having problems with my doors not unlocking. The driver door will occasionally lock me out when I close the door. The little manual lock comes half way out of the door, but will unlock with the button on the key. The passenger door does the same thing and to open the door you have to manually pull the stick on the door to unlock it. Could this be the lock actuator or is it the cable inside the door? I want to fix this myself... I have heard that the dealer can fix the door so you can simply pull the handle once, unlocking and opening the door at the same time. Is this something that I can do?

What manual lock? The little peg on the door sill is just an indicator and should never be forcibly pulled up or pushed down. The door should always be locked with the remote key or with the toggle on the console and similarly unlocked or unlocked by pulling the interior handle twice.(you can also have the car programmed to auto lock as you start driving). If you have been pulling or pushing on the peg, you've been stretching or bending something.
Yes the little peg. I only pulled it because it was the only way to unlock the door to open it from inside. Nothing else works. It already auto locks at 10 mph.

You are saying that pulling the door interior door handle twice doesn't unlock it nor does the toggle switch in the console?
Is the passenger door unlocking when you hit the toggle switch?
