I took Hermione on a great trip up the shore of Lake Michigan on Sunday morning. Some fun twisty roads, which are tough to find in Chicago. I also met a guy with a Hummer. Not one of those wimpy H2s, but the real deal!

I followed him into a parking lot, and told him a I had to take a picture of our cars together. He laughed and said "I have a car like yours too...I keep it in my glove box!" I don't think he knew what a MINI was

I posted some pictures of the meeting in the Member MINIs gallery, #s 981 & 982.

Talk about different ends of the spectrum! Too funny.

I can't wait to get my Mini and tear up LSD, too.

Hopefully, Lower Wacker will be done sometime this millennium. It would be cool to have a shot of a fleet of Minis zooming around down there.

Keep on motoring, Soopa.

That is the coolest idea! I only live a few blocks from there, and I'm totally going to organize that once the weather warms up. We'll have to do it early on a sunday morning, so there's not a lot of traffic...just like the Blues Brothers!

If you don't do it before March, please keep me posted.

In the meantime, don't you hate awkward dinner conversation?

that's funny! I went to Crevier MINI one day to see that some had traded a huge school bus yellow H2 for a MINI, and they had it parked head to head with an all black MC...talk about bizarre

Love the pics! There's just something so amusing about seeing a MINI next to Hummer.

Lower Wacker is wide open! Been taking it to work for about a week. They seemed to have straightened out some of curves, but it's still a fun ride. That post that was in the middle of the road is gone.

I'm up for an early Sunday drive once my baby arrives in early January.

There is a guy that lives near me that drives one. I was parked near to him at Starbucks one time but I didn't have my camera with me!

HEY HEY HEY!!!!!!! If there is a Chi-Town drive PLEASE someone let me know! I was waiting for some of the salt dust to wash away before I went down there to carve up LSD. But if a group of us are going to go, I'm down! Man I'm excited about that!

There's a drive starting at Bill Jacobs MINI this Saturday. Check it out in the Midwest Regional forum. I'm going to try to be there. I'd love to see you there too.

Which one's the Mini?

Oh, there it is, hidden in the Hummer's shadow!

Thanks for posting the pics here DID, but these aren't nearly as nice as the ones you posted a few weeks ago. I still have one of those as my wallpaper at work. Unfortunately, circumstances forced me to shoot into the sun all morning.

However, these pics are amusing. In the first one, you can see how the top of the Hummer's tire is even with the top of Hermione's bonnet! I also like the optical illusion in the second picture that makes the MINI look almost as long as the Hummer

Unfortunately, some of that white stuff is salt, not snow. That's why my poor MINI is so dirty in the photos.

Excuse my digression, but could I get a shout out from all my fellow Chi-Town folk. I am trying to get a bead on our representation on MCO.

So far, it looks like:
SoopaCoopa, Gerbs, Barky, Cooper44, NekoWoman, and Gabe.

Who did I miss? IM, PM or email me if you prefer.

I'm a southeastern neighbor, Hammond,In.
Never did like driving in Chi-town...
Got my MC three weeks ago, spent two evenings motoring around the Loop last week. It was so much fun, but soo darn cold, I can't wait for February.

Another Chi town here. Living north of LSD and east of Sheridan Road, right on the lake. Kind of nice to be able too shoot up north to the 'burbs or south into the heart of the city depending on where and what we want to do.
