I'd upgrade to late 2004+ facelift style shifter and cables which eliminates that failure problem. Just now checked but Allmag and Redline don't show any of those on their websites currently - perhaps contact them to confirm. As reported elsewhere, I bought a complete low mileage shifter combo earlier this year from Allmag for a fair price, then sold the not needed cables. IMO, use their direct vs eBay store, since the prox 15% eBay seller fee eliminates opportunity for lower price plus eBay collects sales tax regardless of seller type or location.

I read that from mod mini. The upgrade eliminates the plastic failure. I will for sure go this route, but it requires the whole assembly with box to upgrade. It’s worth it IMO after seeing how it’s made.

Hoping tomorrow I can fix the temp sensor, I have a new temp sensor and new plug for it, have to remove pins from old plug to install in new one. Sucks but both of the pieces have broken retainer clips on them and it will not stay connected. A socket won’t fit over the temp sensor without removing my aluminum thermostat housing either, so need to remove that first or maybe just loosen it to get enough room.
