Tell Me Your Favorite Aspect of your MINI
Not being able to drive my MINI for weeks has made me miss driving it and my favorite aspect of driving it. I know everyone has one moment when driving their MINI that in itself is worth the whole price of the car. You sometimes go out of your way just to have a little extra fun. I know every moment is awesome in a MINI (even traffic), but what instance stands out, that makes that smile just a little bigger, heck even giggle a little. For example, my favorite is when I'm on a huge semi-circle entrance ramp getting on the interstate (it looks like a huge C). If there are two lanes and slow MiniVans and SUVs, it provides the MINI a great oppurtunity to show its excellent handling and explosive speed around this outrageous curve. So, what's yours? Questions from inquisitive motorists? Your favorite stretch of road? E-Brake spins in empty parking lots? Rocking out with your Harmon/Kardon stereo? Hearing your JCW supercharger wind up its 200 horses?

As soon as I sit in the car my mood is enhanced, fire the little devil up and the sound makes me smile. Get on the road, step on the accelerator pedal and life is good. Take the long way home on twistier roads make the most out everyday living. Ahh, I'm a lucky guy!
I too have a lot of fun taking the MCS through some expressway
entrace/exit ramps at spirited speeds.
Also, I like taking a cup of coffee into the garage and just enjoy
looking at her and sip away.

I smile when I open the garage door and see his dirty little heiny. It reminds me that we were out having fun and now we get to do it again. Even better when we get out on a straight road and kick into 6th and cruise.
Getting into the parallel parking space everyone else had to pass up is darn festive!

On my way home there's an off-ramp I take everyday. The far right lane is exit only. The number two lane (though unmarked) is also an exit lane, providing dual right hand banked exit lanes marked at 35mph. Sometimes when the traffic is just right I have that number two lane to myself and the exit only lane is clogged with others. Swooping arond the outside spinning up on redline at double the marked speed with windows and sunroof open...
yeah. That's the ticket.

I just love the great feeling of getting into my MINI, firing her up, and heading out on the road. Especially when I head out on my cross-country jaunts! That feeling of "anything is possible" is just the best! I love entering freeways! I really rev her up and fly!

Why haven't you been able to drive yours?
My favorites are:
Cleaning it so that it shines and is as smooth as glass. I love the way it looks!
I also love driving along with the traffic and then something opens up and I can just rip/zip and astound the other cars.
I love the looks, the questions people ask, the rumble of the engine, changing my oil (first car I've done that with-great feeling of accomplishment), going on a long trip...it's so much fun to own!

) aren't sure. I love cleaning my MINI up, too. I failed to mention that earlier. No matter how thorough you clean it, its never a long, drawn out job, because the MINI is just so small! I detailed cars over the summer and got sick and tired of simply washing and waxing SUVs, b/c they took forever!
On the highway
Nothing better than motoring along in three or four lanes of traffic beside a big SUV and/or large expensive sedan and whenever I want I can step on the gas and I'm around them in seconds leaving them wondering where did that MINI go? Reminds me of driving a motorcycle except you won't think of going between two car.
The great engine sound--enhanced by my PROMINI CAI and the superb Basso Profondo of my MAGNA FLOW Performance Exhaust. Also, the sun reflecting off all my Chrome Bling Bling, makes it easier to find in a parking lot

yes to all that
Like that guy Steve in the Italian Job, I like what everybody else likes (wait a sec it didn't end well for him, did it
). Some of you guys really hit on some good ones:
Kenchan's cup of coffee with the MINI
Humphrey's dirty boot fetish (oh yes!)
OMG AirMini "Where did that MINI go???" LOL yup
CooperBeagle Lovin' it with the top OPEN in January, I am right with you on that!
DoubleNick's basso profundo exhaust, right on!
My current personal shining MINI moment (in 800 miles of motoring & yes I'm hurrying to 1250 LOL): The first time I took my kids for a ride, my daughter says, "Dad, we feel SPOILED in this car!". Sorta made my day, that.
Spoiled rotten in a chili red S,

I love my MFSW. Switching to another vehicle always has my fingers dancing for a few minutes, until it registers with my brain, no MFSW in the other car.
As for the handling, well, I'm at least observant enough to know that nothing else handles like a MINI.

I love being able to pick up and drive anywhere i want, whenever i want. I love hitting the E-Brake on a hairpin. I love turning on the A/C. I love Turning on the heat. I love shifting into 6th. Ill love still paying for my car in a few years
 . I love getting in a better mood when im in the car. I love driving down Michigan Avenue. I love getting looks. I love getting criticism. But i do not love green eggs and ham.
I seriously thing that shifting into 6th is one of the greatest feelings i get when im in the car. Theres nothing like gently shifting into 6th, its something I take for granted when im in my brothers Saab.

It would have to be taking a turn really fast and scaring the crap out of someone. For instance. A car on a crossroad is waiting to turn left, and you need to turn right. Making the turn w/o slowing down, and seeing the look on the other driver's face is hysterical
Either that, or playing gazelle on the freeway. Drivers here in Ohio are notorious left lane cruisers, and it's fun to bob and weave my way through traffic.

I love the fact that I ordered my MINI just the way I wanted it, (almost, I couldn't get the Burned Orange on a MCS). He was built just for me and there may not be another MINI just like him.
I love the smiles Sting brings to others. When driving down the street, you make eye contact with someone and they just nod and smile.
I love the looks from people in SUVs when I blow by them in 4 gear on the way to 6th gear.
I love the looks on my kids faces when I take a 90 degree turn at 45 without touching the brake
.
I love talking to people about Sting. People in my town are curious about him, ("bet that little car gets good gas milage" Not Really).

I love the fact that I make a new best friend every time I stop for gas, that lovely spot between 2500 and 6000 RPM at full throttle, immediate response to all input, switching on the xenons and watching them level, empty parking lots on rainy days...Oh...I love my car!!!!
I love the fact that, for example, this weekend when I was driving home on the freeway at night no one on it (yes, I had a meeting in the sticks) I was doing 90 mph and I did not even realize it. Now that is smoooooooooth.
I love the MINI runs, where we do 90 -110 in a caravan on the twistees, and knowing that the car is better than I will ever be.
I love the fact that after a hard, stressful day at work, I climb into azuul and just smile
. People wonder, why is he smiling.
