02 R53 Bypass Valve Vacuum Leak

Hello all, New member and owner of an 02 Mini S. I am slowly getting all the bugs worked out of the car but have recently discovered a pretty big vacuum leak at the plastic nipple on the bypass valve diaphragm. i had noticed a flat spot in acceleration and read about the early model yo-yo effect due to the valve opening and closing ever so slightly. upon investigation of the valve and its operation i noticed a sucking sound coming from that area. i felt around and found that the hose going into the diaphragm was not attached. i pulled it out of the housing and found that the nipple that it attaches to was broken off inside the hose. can this hose be temporarily be re-attached to the housing using some epoxy until i can get a new one shipped? it looks like the nipple is separate from the housing that the hose goes into. if this is the case and the hose can be sealed to the housing it could potentially eliminate the lack of throttle response at lower rpms until i can fix it permanently. thank you
