My good deed is done ...

So i met this kid ( 22 , Carlos ) and he's my fedex delivery dude as of recently. He stopped one day while I was working on my car and through a translation app ( he only speaks Spanish and I can't) told me he too had an 02 mini S he just bought as it's his 1st car ever.
he recently immigrated from Puerto Rico and is supporting a wife and soon to have 1st child.
around here NO shops will work on minis ( they're ignorant and don't know any better ) and the stealership here charges 150-175 and his car was rusty so theyd have charged full rate.. anyways I didn't even want any money but he insisted I take 60$ so I did and sent my wife to go get her nails done.
I ended up changing all 4x his breaks and had to clean his new rotors he juuuuust bought because he sprayed them entire in blue spray paint like they were brake drums. I then bled his breaks and inspected all his suspension ect and pointed out anything of immediate concern. I then sent him down the street to our local autozone to grab an oil filter as i had oil and coolant on hand. I changed his oil and OMG LITERALLY 1.QT is all that came out. I also added coolant , checked ps fluid and added washer fluid too. I found a nail in one of his 2x new tires so I removed it and plugged it. I also felt a slight missfire and knew exactly what it was and sure enough on terminal #3 on the coilpack had corrosion so i cleaned that up and it ran crispy. His other 2x tires are showing cords and I have 4x 15in mini rims with good tires I said he can have if he gives me his junk tires and 17in daisy rims which I will swap out fir him tomorrow. We have to get a filter too as his intake had no filter on it.
I also knowticed a 15% pulley on it so I 2x checked his plugs and it did have 1x step colder plugs , atleast on that cyl..lol
anyways the car ended up driving just fine , ran crisp too through all gears..lol he was smiling HARD after I ran it out a little bit and he said it's never ran that good..so I bet the coil was giving him issues since he got the car..
well , I'm off to bed now..finally all showered up n clean and time to go spend time with my beautiful wife !
stay safe guys ! Pass it on !!!!

immigrated from Puerto Rico
Technically that's a move, being a territory of the U.S. Ostensibly he's already a citizen. Funny he'd go all the way to Wisconsin to drive for FedEx though, or that the company would have to reach that far out of state to fill a driver position...

good point.....
I don't think he came to work just for fedex..lol... im sure there was other factors. Maybe he has family in this area idk. The language barrier thing sucks and sometimes the translations are hard.. but here in milwaukee theres a HUGE Latino community here on the Southside of milwaukee and some of its southern counties too..
