Can't wait for March '05 club (The original)

Ok, I have been scheduled for week #8 production (Late February) and ETA for delivery around mid-March.

Anyone else?

I just went from "on order" to "scheduled for production" today! How do you find out when it's going to be built... is that a 1-800-ASK-MINI question or is it lurking somewhere in the Owners' Lounge? I must know!!!

Call ASK MINI to get a confirmation on that. I just put the order in yesterday, so I am not sure about the changes they have made to the tracking in the Owner's Lounge page as my last MCS was ordered over a year and a half ago.

Drew.. I think they are right on schedule. I was told end of Jan, and the car has just started production too. Mine should be completed on Jan 26.

You east coast people have it great.. 3 weeks from build to delivery? It's almost 3 months to Hawaii. Guess the MINI has to travel further. ALOT further.

3 months??

Well it figures. Your MINI has to cross the Atlantic, cross over the Panama Canal and then continue on to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. That's half a world away!.

Still waiting for production date

Ask MINI says my order has been scheduled for production with no production date yet, so I guess I am still waiting to find out if I will be a March MINI owner. I placed my order on 1-3-05, but the status hasn't changed on owner's lounge yet. I suppose this is normal, but I read somewhere tracking is more frustrating than just picking it up and I have to agree.

Oh well, the wait will only make it sweeter. In the meantime, I have already ordered aftermarket shift accessories and am thinking about an intake. I think I have the dreaded MINI OBSESSION DISORDER

You're frustrated.. I dropped a deposit on 12/10 and still don't have a production number. The dealer finally came clean last week that they were sold out through January. I am the "first" for next month. We'll see.

The obession is starting to really take hold.

Wow, I thought I was going crazy, you must be totally fried! Are you guys just using the automated system, or are you requesting a live person. I have heard that they don't update the system very frequently.

I have done both. My dealership is not being 100% upfront about it. I am supposed to be built in Feb. but that is only 10days away. By now I would think I would have a production date. If I get nothing this week, I am calling again and finding out what really is going on. I can deal with a March delivery... April or later is too late... since they haven't been upfront about this at first. I would have checked with some of the other local dealers if I had known this.

Something seems a bit fishy. I placed my order on 12/4 and had a production order number for February by 12/30. I read somewhere else that dealers receive their monthly allocations six weeks in advance.

My salesperson entered my order in today and she emailed me a production number right away. I entered the number on the site and the car shows up as a Dark Silver Cooper S (I ordered Hyper Blue Cooper S). Do I just need to wait for them to update the website? How long will it take. She cut/pasted & emailed me the details right from her order screen and everything is correct. Any help is appreciated....The mental agony begins.

cheers

Amit

Busy MINI

I spoke to a customer service representative today. She said that my order had just been accepted at the factory and the "guess" was 3rd week of Feb. build date. I guess March isn't out of the question, but April seems more likely.

She also said that they get a slew of orders around the holidays and that they were pretty busy so maybe that explains some of the delays. Hang in there Motorers to be!

Just talked to my MA and she said it usually takes three days for the Owners Lounge to update. She said I may make it in for a end March delivery. We shall see once they update the site. Anyway...let's see the specs of my MINI's brothers & sisters, if you have a pic of what your car may end up looking like it would be nice to add as well.

Mine:
'05 MCS
Hyper Blue/Black Top
Premium Pkg
Cold Pkg
Xenon
Foglights
LSD
Anthracite Headliner
Panther Black Leatherette
Alloy Patina Dash

BTW my car will picked up in Cleveland and exported to Montreal, Canada, i'm making good use of the current US$ to CND exchange rate and saving a butt load, quite amazing actually. This is my second MCS. I had a early build US '02 CR/B MCS that I sold last year. I sold it as the importation costs were high at that time when the exchange rate was a lot higher.

cheers

Amit

I guess I need to sign up as a member too. I ordered yesterday and have a production number. Right now, the OL has a totally wrong spec for my car, but it'll probably be corrected in a day or two. My dealer told me to expect delivery the first or second week or March.

woah! Hyper Blue & Black is so nice! I think that's the first I've seen. Wow. Sad to see you leave CR/B (I'm quite partial to it ) but thats a fabulous combo to move on to.

CR/B is a beautiful combo but it's nice to go with something different. I was lucky to see a HB sitting next to a CR in person at the dealer and was blown away with the color. It really looks stunning in person. My order # now works on the OL so now the torturous wait really begins. Lets see everyone's specs!

MINI specs

Hyper Blue metallic
White roof/mirrors
Lapis Blue leather
Premium
Sport
Convenience
Cold Weather

I have already ordered a customized Whalen shifter and a Moss MINI blue intake and am considering the MTH modification. I have the disease really bad. Spoke with MINI USA last week and realized that the wait is going to be longer than I was originally told, but that's OK. It appears a lot of people have been waiting a lot longer than I have/will.

Cheerio!
