Gad I love the OBC for all the information it feeds me in my motoring experience, including what a lil' gas guzzler my 05 S is at +5000rpm 5th or 6th gear going up 75-85 mph +6% gradients! Today, I hit an all-time current consumption low (for me): 4.2 mpg (then pulled 50mpg+ going downhill)

I think the lowest I have gotten is in the 8's.

 

I think the lowest I've ever gotten was 21-22 mpg! And that was in stop-and-go traffic in Los Angeles.

Wait wait wait... how the hell did you do that? I barely got mine down to 9. something... and that was doing 130 for an entire tank (minus on and off ramps). You know the amazing thing is that the cruise control has no upper limit... but wow, at that speed she want's to go straight, puts up some fight around the corners (corners in this sense are nice gentle interstate curves )

He's talking about instantaeous consumption not average. It's only really low at high RPMs with the pedal to the metal. :smile:

 

Yeah as I'm going up a 6.5% grade (newly paved at that)aboot 5000-5500 rpm (watching the current mpg drop like a stone: 12.1-10.3-8.7-6.9-5.5-4.2 mpg) Can we get under 4?

Part of it are the new, shorter gear ratios that makes the new S really hustle. My motoring buddy likes mine so much he's trading in his 03.
