Cravenspeed short shifter

Did the earlier model Cravenspeed short adjustable shifter , the top part of the shifter rod come originally in black instead of the bare stainless steel look as the newer models are ? Bought the Mini and the black finish is wearing off …

In the past we did have a black coating on the R53 short shifter! Was this a new shifter you purchased from a vendor or was that installed on a MINI you purchased?

Thanks for the quick response; it was installed on my 2006 R53 and the black finish is wearing off on top and looks bad .Other than that the shifter works great . Do you warranty finish problems on these shifters . I have your Cravenspeed dip stick, strut tower plates, 15% S/C pulley , crank pulley ,stubby antenna, shift well cover & platypus license plate mount. Regards, Rick

We of course warranty everything we make! It's seldom we see any finish issues like this, we do want to have this taken care of. Either shoot me an email (support@cravenspeed.com) or a PM on here with your information and we'll get this exchanged for you.

While replacing the Cravenspeed shifter with “new” (slotted plastic bushing ); that holds the shifter tight to the housing this bushing split in half , while removing . Does anyone know where to get one , because Mini dealer claims to not have these?

We do have a retaining clip for the shifter, though it takes some modification of the shifter housing to fit.

Check it out here.

The modification needed is just to provide clearance for the bolt heads that extend past the outside diameter. Totally doable, just permanent.

Thanks again for the shifter exchange but, I have your retaining clip pro in the picture. The retainer bushing that I am referring to is located on the side of the shifter where their is stainless steel ball that free -floats on this bushing.
