Carpet Removal

I have my interior gutted prepping for a repaint and audio install. I would like to remove the carpet to make it a bit easier to install soundproofing and run the wires. Everything out of the way except the center dash/AC unit. The carpet is pretty well wedged in there and I don't want to just pull and risk ripping the carpet if there is something else in the way. Hopefully someone has removed the carpet before and can shed a little light on some questions I have.
  • Is the carpet split under the A/C unit?
  • Will it slide out freely with a strong tug, or do I need to pretty much disassemble the lower dash/AC?
  • How big of a PITA is it to get it back in?
  • Any other tips?

You can try to bring that thread back to life and ask how it went for the OP

I got the carpet out. It is a super tight fit between the heater/AC and floor and requires a lot of muscle and patience. The carpet is split on the very front to go around some immovable parts. Attached are some pictures to help those brave enough to follow.
