I'm considering installing a switch or two in my dash and want to do so in the dash piece that surrounds my speedo and middle ac vents. It's the part on my MINI that is Alloy Patina, yours might be Silver or Anthracite. How do I remove this and does any one have a part number for it? If the part isn't too cheap, and not too difficult to remove I'll mount my switches there.

Thanks

To get to this center dash display panel you need to remove the top portion of the dash first.

The front/top part of the dash comes off really easy. Pop off the end pieces on each side of the dash that are exposed when you open the door. Then remove the two torx bits on each side. The top/front of the dash can now be removed, giving you access to remove the dash trim.

To get the part number ask Classic Auto Campus to figure it out.
In my european MINI accessories book the part is named: Cockpit strip Middle display panel

There's also a screw on the bottom right of that trim piece that you must remove before popping the clips.
