NCS Expert vin is faulty error with so much more

Hi all I'm just trying to code some things for my r53 and I

keep getting hung up on this. I have checked to make sure the com port is set drivers installed and that all the daten files are up to date. This happens when going through the chassis setup if that makes any difference. Not sure if this would cause it but I am running windows 11 but everything in running in compatibity mode for xp sp3. What is going on very confused? any input would be appreciated.

I've had the same error when my switch on the K+DCAN cable was in the wrong position. First thing I would check is to see if a different position will clear it up. My switch is a four position switch, but only one of the four actually does anything.

If your K+Dcan INPA don't have a switch, open and do a bridge between pin 7and 8.That will solve the issue.

So I did fix the issue and it was a cable problem where the switch on the cable was turned to what it said was the bridged position but apparently it lied because I tried it on the "wrong" setting and well it works like a charm. Thank you all for your input!

Hi all, so I just tried coding my 2003 MCS and well I'm very confused, I followed the directions exactly from the video linked below. The only differences is that I am running windows 11 and I am not using the same profiles as he is in the vid. But when I go through I have no issues, everything seems to go great, but however when I finish and close everything out, nothing on the car has changed almost like I haven't coded anything, Anyone have a similar issue? Thanks!

This video describes the same process I have always used. Are you sure you exported the MAN file after you made your configuration changes? See time mark 6:00 of the video. Also make sure that you are changing the job in NCS Expert to SG_CODIEREN before you execute. If you still have problems, PM me.

Hi all thank you for the input I did figure it out It was a setting in the profile. In profile editor under the fsw/psw and the car key memory settings, there were options in there that were not checked. Honestly not super sure what the options do but I found it on a e46 thread by dumb luck.
