R57 Restraint System Malfunction
Restraint System Malfunction
Hi folks!
Looking at buying a 2012 r57, problem is - when you start it up an error comes on the screen stating "Restraint System Malfunction".
I'm a bit worried that if I buy the car, it's gonna cost me a few thousand to fix this issue.
I've looked around regarding this but don't see any fixes. Has anyone cured this seemingly common problem?
Thanks for any input!

it is an easy fix considering having the right tools and software. NCS Expert and Winfkp should be able to program and code the module.
Was the can in an accident? if you're near philly, i can hook you up

In FL unfortunately....
i have coded my R53 for all of the extra functions using NCSExpert - but wasn't able to figure out turning off the airbag light that popped on thanks to me switching my seats out. On R53 you would do that in INPA, although I couldn't get it to work. How would I do it in NCSExpert for either of these cars?
Gonna try "Carly" Monday if the car is still there.
undortunately Carly doesn't work on R53, Sure looks easier than NCSExpert.

I haven't looked at the CARFAX yet, waiting to go back Monday. Guy says car was never in an accident / clean carfax.

once you update the SpDaten of the airbag using WinKfp, you load NCS expert and do a Sg-codren. if you want to mess with the specific code lines, then you need to "read the module". Using NCS dummy, load the file and enable/disable what you want. once done, export the new code file into the "work" folder. then do sg-codren.
