It's been almost 20 years since I took delivery of my MCS. #504 was built in March, 2002, and I took delivery in May. MAXX was a Spec build, meaning the factory was randomly Speccing the options and colors and building the cars as no ordered options were being accepted. I had put a deposit down 3 years earlier with a BMW dealer who had not yet been awarded a MINI Franchise. I had a call from the dealer in March as the MINI was being slotted into the build queue, take this car as it will be built or decline and go to the end of the line. I took it. It's now 20 years and 91000 miles on and it has been one solid and reliable car. Happy New Year MINI and Happy almost BDay to #504!

My May 28, 2002 build MCS was among those in East Bay MINI's first customer spec allocations. July 3 of this year will mark the 20th anniversary of my taking delivery. Just under 82K on the clock.
