Electricall Problems

Ive been having electrical problems and someone suggested check the grounds
Not sure where to even start.
First the sun roof quit. Then no indicators of signal lites(signal lites actually still work though)
Dash lites quit.
LED readout in the tach gauge works intermitantly.
Yesterday the radio quit (reads "disable" on the screen)
Today the clock quit and then restarted once car had been turned off.
Im afraid if I go to the dealer it will cost more than the car is worth and its still in nice shape.

Any ideas

What model car? Is it an S on Base?
Have you tried to pull any codes?
Have you checked fuses?

Sorry, its a 2002 R50(base)
I did check fuses.All good.
Is there a way to read codes without an OBD reader?

Grounds are a good start. Start at the battery and follow the cables.
No way to read codes without a scanner.
Have you tired resetting the ECU?

There’s a good chance your BCM was damaged from leaking sunroof drains. It’s common for the front drain tubes to fall off of the sunroof assembly and have water short out or corrode the BCM (passenger side footwell) which controls most of the electronics of the car. On the drivers side, a drain tube leak can damage the fuse panel, but with all of the issues you’re having I would check the BCM first.

There are 4 drains for the sunroof which drain below the car for the fronts, and at the top corners of the hatch jambs for the rears. Securing the tubes with hose clamps is recommended. Other possible areas of leakage are from the A pillars, door seals, or windshield.
