Just got welcome pckg for '02 S!

I just got a welcome package (bingo, signs, pen, etc.) for my '02 Cooper S that I got from the dealer 9/02. The most interesting thing is the driver assistance card. It has my vin but said it was activated 11/04.

Is this something I need to worry about?

May 5th 04 purchase here. Still no WP

I have called 5X and still not received a welcome package! I am calling my dealer on Monday now that I know it has a driver assistance card in it..
GRRRRrrrrrrrr I am irritated by this.. My friend got his two months after mine and already got his welcome package!

Apparently, all you have to do is wait 27 months!

Why does my card say 11/04, though? Do I get an extra 24 months of coverage?

Keep your miles low and you may just...

My warranty was extended on my Z3 and I never asked questions and got a new steering wheel and seat rails the last week of my longer then usual warranty..

Nearly a year and all I got from Crevier so far is a bend-over package.

Bought my car at Classic MINI in Cleveland, OH, on 12/3/04 and my Welcome Kit arrived yesterday. Maybe they send these things out in batches?

FWIW, my RSA card has 12/23/04 as its "in service" date.

Terrific stuff in the kit. I love the cleverness of the writing. I mean, do you think Chevy would ever mention Lewis and Clark in their materials?

For that matter, who else but MINI would even bother sending you promotional material AFTER you bought a car!!!

No wonder we're all a bunch of fanatics!

Yet again, I got another MINIUSA welcome package on the mail on Friday .

This is the 3rd welcome package I receive. MINI #1 was purchased September '02 and MINI #2 October '03. No other new MINIs on order.

Very nice indeed. Heck another piece of MINI memorabilia for my collection!

I think there is a fluke in their computer. Why send me a 3rd welcome package after 16 months since I took delivery of my MCS?

How odd.

I just got the car on 12/15 and I got my Service card on Friday, no welcome bits but a service card none the less.

It was from MINI Canada, maybe they just figure the first week of January every year is when they mail out to the masses

Not unless you need retroactive roadside assistance!

Mine came with the big black rubber band wrapped around everything else.

As to the "what gives?" question - it's my understanding that dealers have to "participate" in this program. I'm not exactly sure what that means - maybe they have to send something to MINI so that they know to send you the kit?

Who's your dealer? (Mine's Classic MINI in Ohio, and I got a welcome kit)

Has anyone ever gotten a welcome kit for buying a used MINI from a dealer?

I picked up my 05 MCS at the end of October. Just received my "Welcome to the Neighborhood" package last Saturday (Dec 8th). So now I have 2 copies of the unofficial owners manual. Gotta like the fact they had custom rubber bands printed just to wrap around all the stuff in the box. Mini sure does now how to treat their customers with free little bits of stuff.

I bought a 2003 MC with my ex-girlfriend and a 2004 MC for myself. She got my Welcome Package mailed to her and I often get her online and paper statements at my place. Good thing we're still good friends!

Also, she got two of the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF OPEN MOTORING booklets mailed to her while I didn't get any. Their system is wacky.

Is anyone still getting the mug?

James
