well, I did it.. still in shock ....:-)

Hey guys,

I posted here a week ago or so trying to gain information on this little phenomenum known as the MINI. The funny thing about this endevour is that I started looking at Pepper White, a fine color, but as soon as I stepped on the lot there was one other that later gained my heart.

You see, I consider myself pretty conservative. Nontheless, I was in for a big 180 only to be masterfully orchestrated my the MINI cooper.
Mellow Yellow called my name the loudest and I absolutely loved the color combo; again pretty unsual for me but the MINI pulls it off beautifully.

So without any further due:
I am picking up tonight a MCS w/ auto tranny.
Mellow Yellow w/ black roof.
Sports pckg
Convience pckg
Premium pckg

I'm picking up the car late this afternoon!

I am still catching myself saying, did I really buy that Mellow Yellow?
I love it

Hope to see some of you around the Houston area.....

Cheers
Andy

I'll snap a few pictures this weekend!

Oh! I forgot to mention that my wife was taken to the track for a spin in the MINI. She kissed the ground when we got out

Very neat.

I can't wait to see the pictures. I have a friend with an 02 MCS with the same colors.

Enjoy, I'm not letting my wife and the MINI get near the track, I would never get to drive again. Track days are mine.

This was going to be my second choice if the deal fell through on the Mellow Y.

Great color!

Is there a standard pre-delivery list I should go over...?

I have not felt this excited about a car in a very long time.....I believe it was when the first generation A4 hit te US back in the mid 90's. I loved that car!

I get to drive past my local MINI dealership every day (or stop and gawk if I so choose), and I must say it is a brilliant sight seeing all the wonderful colors that MINI has introduced to spice up the color lineup!!! Be they mild or wild, these colors all come off w/ class!!

Andy, that is so great! I responded to your original thread (My screen name was BOSS10L then), so I'm psyched you decided to pull the trigger!

I may be a bit biased, but great color choice. Looking forward to seeing pictures of that fine machine!

I certainly recall, thanks for the reassurance. It has been great so far; I really hate having such a short commute to the office now..

Congrats on your new car! It will only grow on you. The MINI community is like no other. If you drive past another MINI make sure to wave or honk!

Quick update:

Drove the MCS home last night and my wife seemed a little hesitant about it at first. I convinced her to take it out for a ride with the dogs and now the rest is history...

We drove around town for a couple of hours, taking turns behind the wheel.
I stayed up last night (yes, I'll admit it) covering the manual and setting up the phone, blinkers, garage door, etc..... you know how it goes...

Can't wait for the weekend!

Lots of pictures forth coming (inside and out).

Andy

Did ya wake up this morning and run to the closest window to make sure it made it through the night ok? I definatly did that my 1st morning of ownership (and quite a few mornings after that)
