Hi Sticky Wicket.

I too, live in NYS, and I've attached the Alta light bar, with only 2 of the 4 lights. Check out my thread to see the results. I've found that the 2 IPF driving/fog light combo lights are wickedly bright. I don't feel I needed another 2 lights...

I've seen your photos posted before and think its a fairly good look. I just like the asthetic of the four lights across the grill more. Purely a style issue more than one of utility. While some of the roads leading to my house are dark, I'm sure the factory xenons and fog lights would be more than adequate.
Anyone have a bracket or other mounting system they really don't like?

Regarding switch positions, a friend of mine had his dealer mount his AUX input in the blank switch position on his panel. Easier to reach than the standard glove box position and uniqu application of the blank position.

I ordered the rear fog light for my MCS (Feb build) so I won't have a blank spot. But I though that solution was clever.

They are not like real toggle switches where you can hook a 12 volt line to the back and turn it on and off using the switch.
Okay,I was worried about that. I wonder if there's a kit for the rear fog lights, then I could just route the power to whatever devices i so choose... although that may complicate the wiring... if I'm thinking correctly... how feasible is this? I'd like to have a switch like the one for the front fog lights, with the LED that illuminates when its on... don't mean to hijack this thread, should I start a new one?

There are ways to use the switch & tip ... for example:
http://www.gbmini.net/mtblog/archive/000473.shtml
which links to:

The main thing to remember is that the switch is VERY low current - it does not control the lights; it only tells the BC1 what to do. If you want to switch some other device you will need a relay or some other current boost system.

Where can you get the garage door toggle from???

The blank one is used for rear fog lights in states where that is legal.

I hear that you can get a garage door opener circuit to use with one of the empty toggles.

How about toggles to release black smoke, oil slicks and fire missles? The machine gun trigger should be on the blank button on the MFSW!

Don't want to be shouting too loud ... one option is to use the MINI circuit; an optional feature provides an output, controlled by a toggle switch, which can trigger your existing garage opener to transmit ...

The most basic panel (MC only) has only three switches - two windows & the door lock/unlock.
The MCS always has the second position - either ASC (standard) or DSC (upgrade).
And you can fill the front and/or rear fog positions if you get the option.

NOTE: You can buy a fully populated switch panel even if you don't have the options - the extra switches won't do anything except look good. My GBMINI had the rear fog switch (toggle switch panel bought from England) at least six months before rear fogs were allowed in USA ...
Where can I get this full switch panel and how much???

AC, you've got two options:
1. The full panel can be purchased from any MINI dealer for ~$75, or from Classic MINI for 20% off that (mention NAM). That is if you want six functional switches (whether you have the options they control is another matter.)
2. Find someone with a few extra toggles who have done #1 above, drill out your current panel and install the new toggles. Search on toggle or toggle replacement for details, and ask again if you have any specific questions.
I'll also plug Ian's auto-up module, 'cause it's so cool. Easy to add once you've removed the toggles (instructions on the site.)http://www.gbmini.net/MINIcircuit/index.shtml
