anyone's knows if duplicolor makes chilli red spray paint?
everything else is just to expensive online for a small can

 

Your local paint store should be able to make you a can of whatever you need. Couldn't really tell you a price, I get a shop discount.

p.s. not just a 'paint' store .... an automotive finish store ...... Home Depot won't work but local Sherwin Automotive probably can ....

 

I forget whom I'm speaking to. I was under the assumption of sourcing automotive paint, at an automotive store(bumper to bumper, carquest, ect). I wouldn't personally source auto paint at Sherwin Williams(I'm sure they offer it). There are too many better options out there.

My advice is go to your local. They have a lens that will read your color. There will always be differences in the color from year to year. Different factories in the same year can produce slight variations. Any off the shelf product will use a formula that is only passable, not exact.

There is a reason it is all done by a trained professional. But what do I know. I've only been painting cars for 15yrs

 

Off topic, but do you think the 12 oz can would be enough to paint a harness bar?

Thats might not be enough to get a good coat. You might need 2 just to be safe.

 

Duplicator Ford OEM Cardinal Red is about as close as you can come to JCW red.

 

I used that color to repaint a set of mirror caps. It was almost a perfect match and since mirror caps on a GP are the only parts that are red, it didn't have to be a perfect match. You are going to see a difference if it is against another painted body part.

 

I'm sure it varies location to location, but my local O'Reilly Auto Parts can mix paint from the code or they have a little camera thingie that they can use to match your existing paint. I've had them mix a couple cans of various paints for me for Land Rovers, and they were perfect for doing trim bits and such.
