I picked up a pair of stainless ralley light brackets for my car. My car does not have the lights, yet.....I need a few good pictures of how the brackets are attached to the underside of the hood. Are they held on with screws or pop rivets? I want to attach these brackets the strongest way possible
i was lucky when i picked up Winston he already had the wiring and holes. it was just a question of fitting them
but
frustrating is that the switch on my dash is coded to my brites. so for now my yellow rallys are useless
took a bunch of fiddling about to figure out they were linked.

Did you have any problems with the fitment of the stainless brackets? I have a pair of these, and while the 2 lower holes line up just fine with factory locations, the end of the bracket with the single hole has a gap 10mm from the metal of the hood. Almost like I would have to fit a spacer to take up the space between the bracket and the hood.
Stainless steel button head cap screws with washers and nylock nuts.
Rivets will eventually loosen with vibration, as will the bolts. But bolts can be retightened.
I plan on using a small amount of blue, removable Loctite on the bolts to stop them from vibrating loose. Don't use red, permanent Loctite. You'll have to apply heat to break that crap loose!

I have not installed the brackets yet, the lights just showed up yesterday. I did a test fit of the brackets to the hood, everything seemed to fit like was shown in the pictures. I have a black honeycomb grille set here that I need to install first, then the brackets will be next
Maybe your bracket is bent? Are both brackets the same way?
I have tried 2 different sets of brackets from the same maker, and they both appear to fit in the same way. Might be time for a vice and a BFH!
I have the OEM Aero grille fitted.
thanks for the PDF instructions.....I don't have the other special bracket they call for if the car has washers and Xenon headlights.....are they really needed?
Yes, I installed them after I installed my aux lights- made a big difference in open-hood stability. They were not expensive, I believe I googled the part number and bought aftermarket versions. 3 minute installation.

Not the hood struts, the PDF install manual said that my car needed a pair of extras mounting brackets... I don't have them
went to the hardware store today and picked up the button head machine screws and the nylon lock nuts for the bracket mounting....
I have the black honeycomb grille from eBay...I test fit the bracket and I do not have to cut any part of the grille, it fits through the grille without hitting it
Might try and mount the brackets and lights this weekend
I just reinstalled these on my car with fresh brackets and hardware this weekend - I decided to go with rivets again, as the originally installed rivets had held just fine.
Also, the rivets were easy to do. Good luck with the install.
Any chance you could dig up a part number on those or take pic and post it up... of the printing on the struts themselves ??
they are standardized parts in general ... just need to know extended, compressed lengths and pound/kg rating...
you can get quality pairs for less than $20 if you know what you need
