Also a quick tip... When ever you use a stainless steel fastener... and you have stainless bolt/screw AND stainless nut ... ALWAYS use copper anti-seize on them... and especially when you use nylon insert lock nuts.

I've installed literally thousands and thousands of stainless fasteners in the last 45 years... Galling is definitely an issue that most DIY'rs don't consider.

Thank you for the part number for the lifts .... found them for low bux on the web.

BTW:

Heres the spec on a STOCK... NON-rally-light equipped Gas strut
I'd imagine that the Rally Light struts are 65-70 lb force per cylinder

If someone has the force on the uprated - 51 23 7 064 485 - cylinder posted above (thank you 383)... I'd love to see that info.

got my new grille and lights installed, now to wire them up....I don't have to find the heavy duty hood struts....the ones I got from eBay are very strong and have no problem with the lights on the end of the hood.
