AIRBAG RESISTOR Aftermarket Seats

Hello. I’m sure this has been covered. But i can’t seem to find a current / updated link.

is there a plug and play resistor for the airbags instead of soldering one for the r53 airbag ?

upgrading my seats soon.

Thank You

The '06 has to have a special emulator. Supposedly some of them work, but I've never tried.

it's probably better to code it out of the airbag module with NCSEXPERT, that is what I do with mine

no you need a kcan cable and INPA and ncsexpert working, ncsdummy makes the config edit easier so get that too

You could remove the occupancy sensor from the old seat and hook it up. Coding is possibly easier though. I bought one of those emulators a long time ago when my sensor failed, but I just ended up coding mine out as well before I could try the emulator. I believe it's OC3 in NCSdummy, but it's been a while.

I just realized that you'd have to code out the airbags as well so probably best to just get everything set up for coding. My brain was only half awake when I answered earlier.

Contact the boys at Detroit tuning, I think they might have exactly what you need or can point you in the right direction.

?

I had an airbag out of my Countryman briefly. I just disconnected the plug and stuck a 3.3 ohm resistor in the pins. Worked fine?
Note: 3.3 ohm, not 3.3k ohm.

I purchased two MINI wiring "repair kits" for the airbags.
I purchased resistors.
Then soldered the resistor to the two wires coming off that connector.
Then plugged that new connector into the airbag harness for the seat.

When plugged in, the system thinks the airbag is still connected.

I looked everywhere for the "leftovers" of the airbag repair kit hoping to get you a part no......I think I may have tossed them away cleaning out some old MINI stuff.

Just go to a MINI parts counter and order up a "repair kit" for the airbag side of that harness.

They cost about $50.00 ea I think but works great for a plug and play set up.
