Happy New Year everyone.
I'm in the process of putting a new android deck in my car and it comes with a backup camera. If I decide to put it in I need to find the positive reverse light wire. I found a thread for an 08 but is the wire the same? I was planning on running the wire to the boot compartment unless there is a better location.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Find the reverse light switch (attached to the shifter on the auto, on the side of the trans of a manual).
The Blue/Purple wire is 12V coming from the battery. The Blue/Yellow wire is switched "on" when reverse is engaged. This is probably the one you need to connect to the HU

 

Thank you MrBean for the quick response. I just read through the installation manual and I need to hook up cables to the Reverse light positive and negative.
I'm not very car savvy but I am learning quickly.
Blue/Yellow - reverse light positive ??
Blue/Purple - reverse light negative ??

Is there any easier place to tie into? I've included the wiring diagram.

 

The trigger cable on the radio connects to the blue/yellow wire of your car.
The red and black wires in step #1 are the +12V and ground wires that power up the camera. They should be connected to a 12V supply line that is switched on with the ignition and a ground wire, respectively.

 

One last question and feel free to call me car stupid .
Where are the wires located?
