Hello all, new to the forums here. As the title says, i recently purchased a backup cam for my mini cooper. I had originally searched the forums and was under the assumption that the reverse light was the blue/grey wire leading to the tail light. However, the threads i found that mentioned this were for the later model minis, and it appears that these later models had the reverse light added to the tail lights so this doesn't apply to the 2002 model which only has one reverse light in the center of the bumper. This was my mistake and after hours of wondering why my reverse cam wasn't showing guide lines i went back and noticed the blue/grey wire mentioned in those threads didn't apply to my mini :(

My question is, does anyone know the color of the reverse light wire? and is it accessible from the left or right compartments? If not, how do i access the reverse light wire. Thank you.

 

I don't recall the color, but your reverse light wire (wires?) is threaded through the passenger side tail light area, and goes down out of that area via a grommet. If you pull the light, you'll see it.

 

Thank You, you saved me the trouble of checking all the wires. I found the grommet with the bundle of wires leading to the reverse light. Hooked it up to the reverse cam in a matter of minutes. Turns out it was the blue/yellow wire.
