Driving light install help needed

OK my lights are mounted & I have all of the wires run. Here's my problem, whats the easiest & best way to tap into the high beam wire? I know it's the white one.

My car's a 2006 MCS with Xenon's.

I use 3M wire taps, available at most auto supply stores. Pic attached was taken with my Palm, which does not take the best pictures.

Thanks, I guess I should have been more descriptive in my plea for help.

OK, I use a scotch lock to tap into the high beam wire. How do I get that wire I just tapped into out of the light housing? For the life of me I can't see how to route the wire. I can access the high beam wire by removing the cover on the back of the light housing. I see no way the cover will go back on once a wire is tapped in there & comes out to the driving light switch.

Having just done this.

Do a serach on PIAA driving light install. The wire you want to tap into is the yellow/green wire which you can access from the loom before it enters the socket (many pictures posted on this in the threads). There is about 1-1.5 inches of the wire exposed that you can find and put the tap right there. Then run the wire down the drivers side of the bonnet along with the light wiring loom you just ran down that side.

Hope that helps.

Gene, you must be a mind reader. I just read that thread. On my 2006 it is a white wire. I verified that with my test light. Tomorrow I'll button it up. I hope the smoke stays inside the wires.

Thanks Gene

And thanks Coffeeman

You must not have the Xenons

On my 06' with Xenons, the wire is yellow/green. This allows the PIAA's on only with the high beams and the PIAA switch. I checked with everybody I could think of before I tapped into it, but if you are go with the white wire, go for it and enjoy!

My car has Xenon's too. There are 2 wires that plug into the high beam socket. One white & one brown. I see more wires going into the upper part of the light assembly & I assumed that was for the Xenon lights. When my test light was hooked to the white wire a flash of the brights lit my test light. I'll test the other wires also.

Here's what I finally did. I used the Green wire with a yellow tracer. Pretty easy to get at & hook up. Took my time & did a nice clean install. I've very pleased, but man it took me a long time.

One more thing. The smoke stayed in the wires.

On my 06 MCSC witth Xenons, the yello/green is power for th low beam :( I'm too lazy/scared to change it now I'll wait until it doesn't pass inspection.
