Could my tensioner possibly come out ?????

Ok, car runs perfect . Matter of fact better than it ever has BUT I just found this literally next to my garage in the parking lot.. could it just be coincidence it fell out when I emptied my garage the other day since it had junk from when we did my head and cam . He did replace the tensioner with a new one..
COULD IT REALLY have worked it way out? If so wouldnt i have timing chain noise at the least??? I hope im just being paranoid

Do you have a hole in the back of the block where the tensioner resides?

I was trying to figure out where that is exactly to 2x check . But can't find a good pic , I know its somewhere behind by the passenger side head.. but wouldn't I have some kind of negative symptom like atleast oil leak or something?
I went and finally got new gas in it and it ran spot on again 0 issues , knock on wood.
ok I found where exactly it is , I shall check it tomorrow. My surgery was put off till Friday.. YYYYYEEEEAAAAA ! LOL

If it's not there, the chain will rattle and it will **** oil everywhere... There's a threaded cap keeping the tensionner in place.

Yep, big-*** screw plug that you should be able to feel holding the tensioner in. As Da_Ghost said, if the plug is not there it should be leaking a copious amount of oil.

For sure PO dropped it in the engine bay when removing it...and couldn't be bothered to retrieve it. Eventually worked its way out.
