Yes, the finish line is in sight... on this round lol, oil cooler might be next along with the power steering cooler/fan setup.

Hoping I can finish this current work off today...

Ah good to see that you were able to get it torqued Steve.

I also had troubles when I had extensions which are meant for power tools. When I swapped over to extension for a normal ratchet, all was good.

Had time time to work on the MIni tonight, was hoping to get it all back together but nope, the belt that was recommended for my setup is too short. And of course the tensioner tool I have slipped and got a nice whack in the eye... probably have a black eye after this one lol.

So next size up belt is ordered and will be in hand tomorrow afternoon. And, probably no time to work on it until Sunday. So disappointing... could have kept going with rear mount but eh... its Friday. I will save that for another day. Need the garage back.

Stay safe brother

Top tip for the belt tool, slacken the 16mm nut for the tensioner, so that it extends outwards a bit. Makes relieving pressure on the tensioner way easier because of a better fulcrum point for the tool

Thanks!! I will do that, punching myself in the face is no fun lol no black eye either.

New belt in hand, seems to be the same length as the old belt I pulled off that had the 15% pulley... That does not look right to me. Have not tried to do the install yet.

the tensioner has two holes to insert the locking pin. Make sure you get the pin in the second otherwise, you won’t get the belt on like you’ve experienced

It’s tricky to do by yourself so use the tip of backing off the bolt on the tensioner to keep the tool in place while you load up the spring.

yeah the pin i moved to the 2nd hole, no way that belt fits. got the next size up and it appears to be the same size as the one i pulled with the 15% pulley, maybe a tad bigger. will find out in the morning

It lives... new belt went on w/o a fuss, no leaks from initial startup, dummy (assumption) oil gauge says oil pressure came up, let it idle for a minute and killed it. Wheel liner & wheels are all thats left. (lower motor mount later, tired of working on it for now). Need to go source a wheel liner snap/gromet thingy, busted one of them during the removal. Once thats done its test drive time! Oh Boy!!! Cant wait lol... its been so long!

And the first drive had a odd knock going on that has since gone away... I assume that might have been the tensioner. It was a very faint knock but the calibrated ears picked it up.
