Bought a cheap 03 R50 that was overheating. Just replaced head gasket, valves, timing chain kit, crank pulley, Idler pulley/tensioner, water pump, radiator, condenser, transmission filter, heater core, serpentine belt, etc. It starts up fine for about 3 seconds then there is a high pitch squeel around the serpentine belt. I haven't filled the A/C system yet. Would that cause the squeel? Any help would be appreciated!

Any brand will work. Just type in 6pk1033 in Google search. You get all different brands.

Hello everyone, I had the same issue today after driving my car, an '03 R53, about 200 miles with no issues on this belt. It started squealing out of the blue. I am guessing I may have also gotten the wrong belt, as the one I currently have on it is this:

Amazon Amazon

Not called 6pk1033... but then does an R53 have a different belt than an R50?

Multiple people on Amazon say that this belt will work, and I am wondering why the car didn't make the squealing noise for the other 200 miles, what would cause it to just start now?

I have a 17% reduction pulley on the car.

R53 is different. With the 17% pulley an being supercharged . You will need a different belt. Cannot use stock belt. Try Waymotorworks an see the correct belt

I did replace the belt with the pulley, with the K060535 belt specifically, which I linked above.

K060535 is what came with my 15% kit so it might be slipping on your 17% pulley. Also, how is the condition of your belt tensioner and crank pulley?

I took the crank pulley off to inspect it, it was fine as far as I could tell. The rubber portion was still whole, not broken in two like often happens.

The tensioner is fine as far as I know, but I don't know if I could tell if it wasn't. What would be the tell that the tensioner is going?

I may try putting on the 532 belt, which is slightly shorter and tighter, and see if that fixes anything. I somewhat doubt it would, as everyone online seems to report that the 535 works fine with a 17%, but it may be worth a shot.
