OBDII app

Does everyone use Torque as their OBDII app or is there a better app specific for Mini?

You can use Torgue for basic codes, but there are specific Mini functions that Torgue can't read or reset. I use a Mini/BMW/RR specific scanner, (Schawben). Works well, and you can do lots of troubleshooting,(Testing Components) with it.

I just recently started using Torque and like it so far. The data logging feature is pretty cool!

I'm working on getting a ISTA and INPA setup for a more in-depth analysis.

I use Torque and have been able to clear any code which has popped up. Usually the same code (P0171 System too Lean) every 3 to 6 months or so.

I use car scanner . I found it to be more accurate with trouble codes than torque

Car Scanner Pro is a good OBDII code app. In addition to codes, it allows you to set up gauges like Boost, Acceleration, Fuel Used, Miles Traveled, etc. It also has a neat feature to measure speed over distance, i.e., 0-60mph readings.

I think your gonna need something more than a dongle and an app to do that .

Autel makes the stand alone OBD2 scanners that can also clear SRS codes for MINIs. I installed an amp under the passenger seat of my MINI and when I was testing, I completely forgot about the fact that if you turn the ignition on with the seat out, it sets the light. The dealer wanted $150 to "hook it to their computer", the tool cost me just a little over $125. If you want more details, let me know and I'll look up the specific one I bought but they do work for MINIs and many other brands.

yes it does. There is a separate section you go into when the unit boots up but it can clear the ABS/SRS light as long as the condition that set the light has been corrected.

Got it thank you... let me order this AL619. This light is really annoying.

Work or not it's fine... I need another scanner anyway.

I am hearing about this ISTA app how hard is this to install\acquire,? I've seen threads that it needs special plugs and adapters.

when I had an R50 and R53, I used NCS Expert and NCS Dummy. Didn’t use ISTA so I can’t help there.
