Cant remove ignition coil bolts just spinning

More fun . Started doing my clutch awhile back and its one pia after another . Today I decided to change my ignition coil to a screaming demon coil and surprise 3 of the bolts will not come out just spinning . I tried prying on the bottom of the coil to hold tension but no go . Any suggestions as I sure dont want to spend 300 on a new valve covetTheres some minis at the junk yard but no 03's . Anyone know what years the valve covers are interchangeable

Edit... I cut of the three nuts with the intention of sliding off the IG and then jb welding the nuts so I could unscrew the shafts but the shafts unscrewed with no problem . I have no idea how the nuts were spinning but if this happens to you I'd try cutting off the nuts .

Had the same problem on my '04 and had to buy a used valve cover.

I got super pissed and cut off the heads of the bolts with the intention of jb welding the nuts so I could at least tighten the coil a little and surprise surprise turns out the piece in the valve cover weasnt what was turning it was something in the bolt itself ??? anyway 3 of the nuts in the v cover are tight so I put a little jb weld on the 4th and tomorrow Ill install the new coil .

How critical are the rubber washers . I was only able to salvage 4

Yes those things get stuck and spin. I guess if you can fit a small flat head in there under the coil and push against it to see if it will come loose.

2002-2008 but MINI changed the cover at some point in 7/2004 and the upper PCV design mount changed. Newer ones now come with the sticker and hardware. Screw in part design now for the upper PCV
