Parcel shelf rattle

I've got a loose metal support bar under my parcel shelf that rattles. Anybody had this and repaired it? I'd like to avoid flat head screws on top and torn cover material below but sense I am heading that way.

At first I thought it was a rubber bumper but it rattled even when out of the car. Then I noticed what looks like a steel rectangular tube underneath a cloth cover about 10x20x1000mm magically (not)fastened to the parcel shelf underside.

Simple fix. The ends of that steel tube are held by a small steel bracket heat welded to the bottom of the shelf. I cut the covering felt away and epoxied the bracket back on with spring clamps. Once cured, I glued the felt back with spray adhesive. Good as new and quiet.
