location of OBDII with respect to Euro Parcel Shelf?

Hi guys,

Just got my Actron 9180 OBDII reader and realized that I don't know exactly where the port is on my 2006 MCS. I didn't cover it up when I installed the Euro Parcel Shelf, did I?

Can anyone point me to a picture of its location, or describe where I can find it. I'm sure I'll be able to root around and locate it, but it would be great to have a rough idea before I start.

thanks!

Thanks PGT - that will help. You mean beneath the entire EPS unit (close to the pedals), right?

There is a black cover over the port that needs to be popped open to expose the port. The cover itself has "OBDII" marked on it though.

Thanks again, PGT. It was exactly where you said it would be (not that I doubted you).

Next silly question: is there any sort of mechanism on the MINI which latches onto the cable? It slid on rather quickly, but now I can't get the freakin' thing off. I've felt on the cable for a release, and I've felt on the MINI side for a button, but can't figure it out. I'm sure it's a simple matter, but it is quite securely planted right now and won't budge. I have a pending email at Actron, but I was hoping someone here might put me out of my misery first.

thanks again!

IIRC on my OBD2 cables, there is a small 'grip' on one side (the outside I think), but visual inspection doesn't reveal a latch per se. Just keep (I suggest front/back vs. side/side) wriggling and they shall part ways.
