Forgive me if this is in the wrong section, or if its posted elsewhere (search wasn't so helpful), but I was looking for some info on exhaust replacement, and the hanger mods required.
I had looked around at a few kits (Manzo, Megan, etc) and all of them say "NOTE: 2004-2005 models require hanger modification". I assumed this was the act of removing a few of the already attached hangers and welding them onto a different part of the exhaust, but I was curious if anyone had any pictures, or more info on what hangers need to be moved, and where. Any info would be great. Thanks!
edit: well like a dummy, I posted before exhausting my search, and I believe I've answered my own question. For those curious, it appears the difference lies in the brackets depicted below. It appears that one of the pegs on each side is turned 90 degrees from where it inserts into the rubber hanger. I believe the one that points out to the right is the 2004-2005 version, as the exhaust kits I have found have the hangers both pointing forward.

The one with the red arrow is the 02-early 04 hangers.
The green arrow is on the 05-06 style hangers.
We have found some of the cheaper exh like the Megan and various other china exh only have the 02-04 style. So to install them on an 05-06 you have to modify the hanger or not use the inner hanger. With the Milltek the inner hangers bolt on and they come with both style so you can fit on any year R53. The Borla and Magnaflow have to be ordered specific for whatever year you have.
