A supposed LSD 6 speed...

I have a chance to buy a 6 speed tranny locally from a guy who was told it had LSD he never installed it so he’s not sure, was wondering if there’s anyway to tell from just looking at it? I figure either way a spare tranny would be worth the $100 price tag.

The LSD (limited slip differential) is not part of the transmission.

Yeah you’re right it’s part of the dif inside the transmission which was a stock option in 05-06

My bad - should have done more research. Uninstalled, you'll have to split the cases to be sure.

All good. Think I’m buying it either way for the price

There should be a part number sticker - gearboxes with factory LSD will end in TBKL while ones without will end in TBKE. This assumes it hasn't been cracked open prior.

That’s the only sticker I’ve seen on it... I ended up getting the tranny and a Meghan header for $75 so I think it was worth it even if this doesn’t work. Probably should’ve done a bit of research but oh well. Also anyone know if an 06 transmission will bolt on to an 02? (Probably a bit late for that question but I can usually make something work)

(unless added after the fact)

Looks correct to me as well. Crack it open, see what goodies can be found inside!

Ahhhhh I knew this was way too cheap to be true. I figure the brand new header was worth twice what I paid for all this. Seemed like a decent guy though as far as craigslist goes. This weekend I shall crack it and see what’s going on in there. Didn’t really want to pull the tranny till the clutch needed to be done anyway so I have time to play with this one. At this point I can always go quaife and have time to build it.

You never know, could be an aftermarket already in it. For the money, it's a good gamble
