Rear cargo cover sitting too low

My 05 MCS was missing the rear cargo cover when I got it a few months ago. I bought one off of ebay, the MCS vented style and seems to clip in fine and lift properly but when I close the hatch it sits too low and goes under the hump on the hatch instead of sitting on top of it. Where there different styles over the years or am I missing a spacer? If I use a 3/4 piece of foam and put on the back side plastic as a stop it seems to sit properly. What am I missing?

you need to shorten the two holding lines. I have tied knots under the cover in the past!

Had the same problem on mine and discovered I was missing one of the rubber bumpers on the cover. They're held on by staples.

That was my first thought, I used two safety pins to try and set the drop height, what I found was that lifted it way to high and it got wedged up against the door seals and then wouldn't drop back down. I'm thinking even with the lift ropes off it should sit exactly where it needs to be, which it doesn't. It's tilted down at a 20-25 degree angle. There are rubber tabs on the sides but they are pretty small. Maybe I can look up pics online to see if I'm missing something.

That was quicker than I thought. Take a look at this video at 5:02, you can see the shelf sits flat until the hatch starts pulling on it. Mine is angled downward.

You can look at this one and see what you are missing, is the part number 51467111559?

Looking at mine and comparing that picture the rubber pieces that are stapled on are a little different. Mine don't have the ridges its smaller and just flat. Here's the pic from ECS

Might be on a little white sticker or embossed on the bottom side of the part, or just take a picture of the part.

Take an inch of thick-walled rubber fuel hose - slit it along the length - snap it on the edge of the shelf.
Add a drop of glue if you like.
Works great!
