Order Placed!!! and now the waiting starts........

Hi,
I am new here. I just placed an oder or '05 MC today. Since there is no Mini dealer in Austin had to drive to San Antonio to place the order. Here are the specs of the MC in ordered. Would love to hear comments/suggestions.

Astro Black with White Top
Preminum Pack, Sports Pack, Convinence Pack
HK Audio system, Aux Audio Input( For my Ipod  )
Int Surface Anthracite, Black Leather Seats, Rear Fog lamp.

Thanks,
Ramesh.

Fantastic specs, Ramesh! All the packages are well-worth it, IMO. My MCS is all-Jet Black, with a Union Jack sunroof flag. You may decide at some point to add a checkered roof flag or something custom! Welcome to NAM and enjoy the exciting period you have now entered. We'll help you through the waiting!

Ramesh...welcome to NAM. That's awesome news!!! I've heard nothing but raves about Astro Black, but I've yet to see one in person. Yeah, waiting is a bear but you can use the time to connect with the local MINI scene and collect your detailing supplies. So when are they projecting delivery???

BTW, that anthracite interior is gonna look wicked with Astro Black!!!!! Yummm-mmy!!!!! You sure have some fine, fine motoring to look forward to!

Ramesh,

Out of curiosity, when did you MA say you would be likely to take delivery ? I'm up in Dallas and am waiting to get some January 2005 stuff, so am intentionally delaying the order a little.

Thanks Guys. In the excitment to post the news to this forum, I forgot that i had couple of questions .

1. I did not order the xenon headlamps. Are they worth ordering?
2. I discovered at the dealers that they have anew IOPD connector of mini, does anyone have more information about(Even the delaer did not have much information). Is it beetr to got with the Aux connector(more versatile) and/or get the IPOD connector.

Thanks,
Ramesh.

Ramesh, YES....the Xenons are really worth it! I had a Cooper without them, and the difference is, tee hee, night and day! If you can afford them, do get them. They are really good!

rsoni,

Welcome to NAM I'm sure you will love your MINI as much as I love mine Well, maybe not as much as I love mine

your only 94 miles from your dealer, I'm 99 from my dealer but I pass two others on the way there, so it was my choice (and a good one at that in my opinion).

Ramesh,

The Astro Black is awesome; there was an Astro Black convertible in the showroom when I went to pick up my Hyper Blue/black MCS this week.

I have also ordered an IPOD connector, which is not available quite yet. If you have an IPOD you should get the IPOD connector instead of the normal aux connector. With the IPOD connector you will be able to use the controls on the steering wheel to switch songs; with the aux connector you can only do it from the IPOD.

I would also recommend the xenon headlamps if it's in your budget. They are kind of expensive but look really cool.

You're gonna love your MC. Sounds great to me. My opinion, forget the Xenons and use the $550 bucks for something else.....like maybe taxes or insurance or even an Rspeed exhaust.

Great specs.......

Thanks everyone for your comments/suggestions. I did end up ordering the xenons. I got a call form my MA, Susie Clarke, just now. She gave me the production # and the said that my mini is scheduled to be build in week 51(2nd week of Dec) and estimated delivery time is jan 2-3 week.

Thanks,
Ramesh

Just to point out, you can go ahead and order if you are waiting for something that will not be available until January builds. I ordered mine in the 1st week of November. Just be sure that your MA understands that you want to wait for a January build. The earlier you order, the earlier your car will be built. My MA said that, assuming the LSD's are in stock during week 1, I should have a week 1 build car and have it by the beginning of February!

I just saw that the status on miniusa OL page has changed to "scheduled for production" and ASK-MINI says that the estimated completion date for my mini is 15th DEC(order placed on 26th nov, just a week ago), thats much quicker than i had expected, not that i am complaning  .just wanted to share this good news and see if anyone else with same completion date as mine?

Kool spec, Ramesh - my CR/B "S" will be born on 12/12/04. Order was placed on 23rd November, so the interval appears to be the same for us both, between Ordering and Estimated Completion. If you're east of the Mississippi, our cars might end up on the same ship, I think.
