Darth Cooper - I love it! My wife named her EB/W MCSa Twiggy and was pushing for Emma (Emma Peel from the '60s Avengers show) for mine. I'm leaning towards Duke because the English have Dukes and I am a big fan of the Duke (John Wayne).

Angus

I also have never named my previous cars (except I guess the 71 Fiat Spyder Convertible I had called it the pod of death, and nearly met my death a few times in that thing). Picked up Angus in December. When I first ordered my 06 PS MINI I thought it would be a Chloe, but this MINI is definitely male. Being silver I was thinking British and metallic, thought about Nigel (from Spinal Tap) and eventually decided on Angus.

Snorlax - named after a green pokemon character with a white belly that spends much time sleeping, but when it wakes up...watch out!

Winnie - named after the Wonder Years character Winnie Cooper. Get it? Get it? I wonder what happened to her...I used to have a huge crush.

Picking a Name..

Sometimes it's spontaneous and sometimes the car comes with a "persona"...

My first MINI purred, hence the name Miss Kitty. My second was the by-product of an 8' storm surge that drowned Miss Kitty. MINI #2 was named Ducky...and because this one has deeper engine sounds and needs a firmer hand shifting and steering, I also say it's a boy.

You won't always know your car's name right away...it may take a day or two before it becomes obvious. So relax and enjoy...have fun. Flora Blue

I had a completely different name chosen for Baxter, but as soon as "Baxter" poped into my head it stuck. I think the other name also started with a B, but I'm not sure. For some reason I thought of that silly cat, and that is where Baxter came from. It stuck for me because it was a light and playful name, much like the appearance of the MINI. I just can't shake the name.

My 05 MINI was Samantha....after the Sex and the City character... and she lived up to that name... she was a high maintainance witch!

my 350Z was Angelina... good looking but useless

my 06 MINI started out as Catherine... The name popped into my head one day.... then she got a makeover and needed a more... well a new name that fit her a better name and now she is Jenna

The day I drove her home the first time I was listening to a favorite CD. The tune playing was "I got Joy".
I was so totally delighted and full of Joy I could have popped that day, so I named her Joy...then I thought of got her a Euro Tag with "Joy Ride" on it.
It fit then and still does. A lot of days she's been my most happy thought.

Mine ended up being Gunner (Jr) after the rank I held in USMC and for how quick he shoots through traffic.

I've always named my cars. My first was a '71 Super Beetle named Fritz. My wife had a blue Civic named "Wanda" as in "Wanda the Honda." It's been replaced by a red CR-V named "Rhonda."
So, what do ya think of how we picked our names? Mick

My mini is due in about 3 weeks, been tossing around a couple of names. It looks like it's gonna be RUDY.

That's my wife's nickname for me. She keeps telling me that I am rude, I keep telling her I'm not rude, I'm from New York. You put me in a room full of New Yorkers and suddenly I don't seem so rude.

The real problem is my wife is just too freakin nice. Serves me right for marrying a southern girl

Snooter, Remember: Opposites attract....I am originally from Jersey City, North NJ, my hubby is from Eatontown, Central NJ, we are like night and day...he has tempered my rudeness, but he has never been able to get me to change my preferences in cars and trendy shoes.

I like to be different, he is a conformist.... Mick

I thought it was funny that my lady named her car. We just bought her a 02 MC and she decided to name her Bridget. From the Bridget Jones movie. LOL I busted up laughing when she told me this.
