Car cover

I'm going to need a car cover for my R53 while I do some work on it in the driveway. Does anyone have experience with this cover? Or a recommendation on a good cover.

The factory MINIs are good. The GP ones and JCW ones most went NLA so I would get the MINI ones while they last.

+1 on the factory cover --- they are excellent.

I travel for work all over the SE but sometimes I don't feel like driving or know it'll be boring (Florida), so I go down to my sis's house in Atlanta and meet the boss for carpooling, leaving my car parked for 1-2 weeks under the cover. It has served me very well.

As much as I'd like to have this JCW version with the mk1 logo...

...I'm kinda glad I got the regular grey/black version because it's much more low key
and doesn't attract as much attention.

As a side note,
if you have a good local dealer, you may get a pretty good deal from them.
My local sells it for $175 which ain't too bad really...

...but I've also seen them on Craigslist for like super cheap $50 so you could go that route too.

I store my R53 outdside under that cover every winter. The cover is still in good condition 3 years later, but I only take the cover on-off a few times a year. It does do a good job of keeping junk off your car.

Hunt around, I'm sure you can find it cheaper.

Check Amazon as well. They seem to have good prices for covers.

Does anyone know of a good indoor cover. I would rather have a cloth cover in the garage for the winter. Last year, I went without a cover in the garage and found the car covered with road salt that blew in from the other garage door.

I ordered this cover and it fits really well, but I'm not happy with it. It's more of a dust cover, not water resistant as it states. I washed it and took out the door seals to wipe up the water that keeps building up under it , and left them off since I ordered two new ones. I put the cover on and the next day it rained. I was surprised to see so much water underneath the cover.

If you want waterproof try out the outdoor car cover (about $300) from California Car cover. Works well on my mini and is sized for the car

The R53's gaskets are getting tired with time and it is not garaged. Time to get a cover. After a bit of searching, I went for a CoverKing Stormproof. I wanted a fitted cover that will stay on in a hurricane. This cover is patterned to each make/model for a good fit. I asked them if they would pattern it with my OEM roof racks and they said nope. It ends up that the cover fits fine over my rack anyway. I reaches down to the lower 2" of the tires. I used their eBay site for the best price.
