Got the JD Powers survey for the my Mini.
Reluctant to take the time to fill it out since it takes my time and knowledge without any payment to me.
Every time you see that JD Powers says this or that about a car, millions of poor slobs sat down and used their time to put money in JD Powers pocket.
If my information is worth that much they could have included a $20.00 dollar bill at least.
Remember, knowledge is power.

They're going to rate the Focus higher than the MINI anyway, so I wouldn't bother responding. JD Powers = Consumer Reports = GM/Ford = etc etc etc.

That sucks...I am not a fan of GM.

I filled it out because I was bored and it gave me something to do for 10 minutes.

Seems to me that you do have a point mcallen - many web and phone surveys will now pay you - but, in light of the thought presented by chrisneal...

If all the MINI owners that got one filled it out and returned it, I doubt the Focus would be able to get rated higher. I understand the bias and favoritism and money involved, but, given all of that, I now see it as a challenge to get the MINI top billing!

I vote that you send it in - out of love and respect for the MINI. Think of it as charity.

Just to clarify - I'm just editorializing, I don't actually know what, if any, actual relationship exists between those companies. The bias just seems very evident sometimes. I'm sure it can't actually hurt to fill out the JDP survey.

My memory is not what it used to be, but I remember when I had my Saab 900 turbo back in 1990 which consumer reports said was too quirky with ignition between the seats, etc. Was one of the best cars I ever had, but just not the kind of car that would ever get a good rating from Consumer reports.

At the same time, they gushed praise for the Ford Taurus for being so wonderfully mediocre and boring. I realized right then and there that what I thought simply may not ever match up to the desires of the below average consumer.

The Ford Focus owners have the time to fill out the survey since they sitting at the dealership getting service for all the recalls the Focus has had.
I hear their changing the name to the Ford Fukus.

I saw a "Focus" with the emblems modified to read "Bogus".
Pretty funny actually.
