What do you guys think? 2006 R53 only 14k Miles
Found a 2006 R53, manual, one owner, always garaged, silver with only 14K miles. Only mods are a dealer installed JCW exhaust and a K&N cold air intake. It’s an individual selling and pics look very nice. Asking a premium price of $11,000....Kelly Blue Book has it private sale in the $7,500 range. We’ve had 4 MINIs in the family, 3 Countryman and a ‘09 R57 so we are very familiar with MINI. I’ve read all the positives about the 2006 and this would be a weekend car. What are your opinions on the 2006 R53 with such low miles and what should I shoot for on the price? Thanks for your input.

As folks generally say, these low-mile unicorns are worth what people are willing to pay. For someone who really wants a preserved 2006 in particular (and if the condition matches the low miles) 10k or 11k could absolutely be a good price. If super-low miles aren't as important to you, it's less of a deal.

I also bought a similarly low miles JCW. An 05 for the same cost. But mine has the full engine JCW parts, and exhaust. The previous owner installed bigger (r56) front brakes, short springs, larger rear anti-sway bar, and aftermarket wheels (reasonably good tires).
By the way...even with the low miles, check the front control arm bushings. It could be about a $750 bill to replace them with aftermarket parts.
I'd offer him/her a little less, see what happens. All he can say is no. Haggle, see what happens.
I'd guess, it mostly depends on how much it "talks to you"..!

If it has the original tires, they need to be replaced immediately, even if they look good. They are over 10 years old. My car, when I bought it, had 3,648 original miles. So far, I have replaced the front control are bushings, lots of plastic parts that have gotten brittle with age, the front motor mount which blew out on a trip to Detroit Tuned (

Look, a 2006 MCS is the top model of the gen 1s. If it had the factory JCW package, it would b worth more than that, with those miles. Throw Kelly Blue book out the window for this one.
You are buying it, for the special year, the low miles and overall condition. You will need to be a good negotiator to get your best deal on this one, as the owner knows what he/she has!
Look it over carefully and exploit any weaknesses you find, to reduce price!
