I like carbon fiber

My plan is to add some carbon fiber to “Wolfgang” to give him a racey look and because I think it looks cool. My short term plan is to do the hood scoop, side mirror s, shifter **** and engine cover. After that I will evaluate the look so I don’t overkill it. Has anyone purchased any of these and have recommendations?

Some of the gen 1 JCW factory parts are NLA, they were top quilty but they have been nla for a while like the CF dash and downtubes. LEAP ( https://www.ecstuning.com/b-leap-parts/v-mini/ ) on our site has some good carbon fiber parts and they are expanding. The engine cover is mostly the intercooler cover. Here is all the carbon fiber for the R53: https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2005-.../carbon_fiber/

I like it also, I have been looking for some mirror caps for my R53 and no luck. I dont want covers I want the real deal and can not find them. Now for my F57 I was able to order at the dealer and even then they had to come from Germany.

Check your local paint and body shops. Guy local to me does the hydro dip and it's pretty slick.

FF to the end

I know it's not real, but you get the look

I got some "real deal" JCW carbon fiber mirrors from ebay with some de-lamming for a song...received the package to only find out the real deals are covers..even had faded JCW sticker on the back of the cover...returned and bought the cheaper covers

Most are FRP reinforced, some are true carbon. I know most of the scoops are.

The hood scoops dont warp from the heat on the Gen 2 MINIs. They are also i little lighter, not by much since the factory is thicker plastic. Unless you are replacing a metal piece with one, thats where you see the weight savings. And of course, they look really good. Some places like LEAP that we carry changed the design, so if you like a design change.

For the interior bits... Dash panels, parking brake lever handle,
Outside... side mirror caps, door handles.
CF through & through... or CF overlay/laminate on Plastic backing?

The former. Buy a new set from eBay for $100 use liquid nails to attach to your current mirror.

Bingo.
