2006 Mini Cooper S with 60,000 miles

I installed KW coilovers along with upper and lower control arms recently and now I'm hearing a mix of clinking and thudding noise coming from the rear left wheel well. I hear it every time I drive over small dips in the roads. I looked up some solutions but none of them have worked. I have changed the end links, checked the sway bar and bushings, checked if the shock was blown, checked if the spring was maxing out, checked the wheel, checked that all bolts in the area where torqued down properly. So far none of these have done anything to do with the noise. I have no idea what the noise is. Also, the car has been lowered about 3/4 of an inch. Can someone please help? Thankyou

 

is the top mount tight enough?

is the spring pre loaded?

is the spring collar secure?

to rule out the sway bar 100% disconnect it and tie it up

control arms tight?

dampers not fouling trailing arm?

 

 

Check those rear end links really close for play (just a little amount makes a clunk noise), they like to wear out and clunk, mine need to be replaced after we did the Ohlins coilovers, strut mounts, rear mounts.

 

I tightened the top mount and that did not do anything.
The spring is not preloaded
I also tied up the sway bar up and it wasn't it
I tightened the control arms
And the dampers don't hit the trailing arm

I'm not sure about the spring collar though. How would that make the noise?

Make sure the nuts are not loose also.

mine did the same its the heim end jam nut, grease it up and give it a good tighten

above in post 5 you said it wasn't preloaded?

if the spring has no pre-load, as in wheel hanging and able to easily wobble/turn the spring, the spring in some conditions can shift causing noise, clunk especially.

 

Yes sorry I realize that I said that. I meant to say it wasn't preload that was causing the noise. The car is lowered and has a good amount of preload on the coilover.

 

So it is normal for them to make noise? My worry is I hear it from only one side an not the other. Also, they were taken off another car that didn't make the noise and I only started to hear it once I it on my car
