Hi everybody, I'm new to the list, and have an 05 HB/HB MCS on order. I really think the hyper blue body & roof combo will look good, but I have to admit that "body color roof" doesn't seem to be very popular.

Does anybody own an MCS in this color combo that could post a pic so I could see what it looks like? Miniusa doesn't really give an accurate pic in the configurator.

At the risk of being flamed, with so few b-c roofs, is it considered uncool to own a non-contrasting roof?

 

Nothing at all wrong with a body-color roof. I think HB/HB looks great! Besides, who cares if it's 'uncool' or not if you like it! As for some pictures, go to MINI2 and do a personal gallery search for 'hyper', I know I've seen some doing that, and it looks outstanding. The only thing I thought is that it might be a bit too much blue after time. But probably not. Note: search only for 'hyper' in the galleries. It's not the best search algorithm and if you enter multiple words it just shows you all the matches for any of those words in some random order, not giving the most probable matches (those that match multiple words) first.

Its true lots of owners are lured toward a contrasting roof (including me!!), but have no fear, HB/HB will look fantastic!! You'll get nothing but kudos around here!!

 

I have hb / white. My wife made me get the white roof. I think bc roof will look great.

Saw a HB/HB last week on the freeway. Looked fantastic. That color is totally super-saturated-kodachrome-sky-luscious. Do it. Body color roofs are highly under-rated, imho.

 

Go for it!!! I love the white roof combo myself, but I think yours would look great also...

 

Classic Mini's almost always came with a body color roof. It wasn't until John Cooper started painted the roof's white during the Rally's that a trend was born, and then carried over to the new MINI.

 

One of the reasons that you see so few Hyper Blue colored roof's is because the color is new. It's only been available since July...

However, I haven't seen too many Indie Blue (Hyper Blue and Black Eyed Purple/Purple Haze's predecessor) roofs either.

But don't worry, if you decide to get a body colored roof and park next to other MINI's, they won't make fun of your car... and neither will their owners!

 

For some reason I am not too crazy about the new Hyper Blue paint. I still think Indy Blue was much better.

In all honesty I prefer the new Purple Haze metallic. It rocks.
